From Migrant to Merchant: How Rongu Built a Business and a Future with SSD
Apr 16, 2026Rongu left his home in Tara'il, Kishoreganj. He came to Keraniganj, Dhaka with his family. He had a simple trade. He bought and sold scrap iron. He had no shop. He had no fixed income. He had no clear path forward. Then he got support from SSD's microfinance program. Step by step, he built a permanent shop. His business grew. Today he employs five people. This is his story.

SSD's Free Eye Camp Serves 700+ Patients
Jan 07, 2026On January 7, 2026, Shelter for Social Development organized a free eye camp. Over 700 patients came. Specialist doctors helped us. We gave eye checks, free glasses, and medicines. We also arranged cataract surgery for those most in need.
